The fitness level required is Beginner.

This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, or other serious medical conditions. Pregnant women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also advised against participating.

Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, caps or hats, cash, towel, flashlight or headlamp, windbreaker jacket, hiking shoes, slippers, and a valid ID are recommended. Additionally, it's advisable to carry a raincoat or poncho, and a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Pre-flight Preparations

Before flying, ensure you have your passport with minimum 6 months validity, return tickets, travel insurance, and other travel essentials.

For travel between cities and towns, we use Toyota Avanza for 1-3 passengers and Toyota Hiace for 4 or more passengers, providing ample space for luggage.

ITINERARY - BALI TO SURABAYA EXPEDITION: IJEN, BROMO & EAST JAVA’S SCENIC WONDERS

DAY 1

Crossing to Java - From Bali to Banyuwangi

Arrival and Transfer to Banyuwangi

The tour begins with a pickup from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) or your hotel in Bali. It’s recommended to start before 10 AM Bali local time. From there, enjoy a 4-hour scenic drive to Gilimanuk Port for a ferry crossing to Java (Ketapang Port). The crossing takes about an hour, with views of Mount Agung in Bali and Mount Raung in Java (weather permitting). Upon arrival at Ketapang Port, you’ll be transferred directly to your hotel in Banyuwangi.

The Blue Fire of Ijen - From Sunrise at Ijen Crater to Papuma Beach

Ijen Crater Adventure

The day begins at midnight with a transfer to the Paltuding trailhead (about 1.5 hours). Start your trek (1-1.5 hours) to the crater rim of Mount Ijen. Witness the stunning turquoise sulfuric crater lake and observe sulfur miners carrying heavy loads despite challenging conditions. Enjoy the sunrise view over the crater before descending.

Coffee Break and Transfer to Jember

After your trek, stop at Malabar Coffee for coffee and snacks. Then, head to Bondowoso City for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue the journey to Jember City and check in to your hotel.

Papuma Beach Sunset

At 3 PM, visit Papuma Beach (1-hour drive). Be captivated by the mesmerizing sunset views over the sea. Return to your hotel in Jember for an overnight stay.

Tumpak Sewu’s Majesty - From Java’s Grandest Waterfall to Mount Bromo

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Adventure

Start early at 4 AM and check out from your hotel. Travel to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, often regarded as the most beautiful waterfall in Java. Its unique formation resembles a curtain of water cascading from 300-meter-high cliffs. Trek through the canyon, following the river and crossing it at one point to fully experience the falls. Trekking sandals or shoes are highly recommended.

Transfer to Bromo Area

After enjoying the waterfall and a water spa, have lunch before driving approximately 4 hours to your hotel in the Bromo area. Check in and rest for the next day’s adventure.

Bromo’s Wonders - Stargazing, Sunrise, and the Surabaya Journey

Mount Bromo Stargazing and Sunrise

Start the day at 2 AM for Mount Bromo stargazing and a breathtaking view of the Milky Way. Witness the sunrise over the caldera, with views of Mount Batok, Mount Bromo, and Gunung Semeru (Java's highest peak). Continue with an exciting 4WD ride across the Sand Sea to Poten Temple. From there, hike or ride a pony to the base of Mount Bromo and ascend 253 steps to the crater rim for spectacular views.

Transfer to Surabaya

After exploring Mount Bromo, return to the hotel for breakfast, shower, and checkout. Drive to Surabaya Airport, Train Station, or your hotel in the city to conclude the day’s journey.

After enjoying the sunrise, you will then continue the exciting ride on the 4WD or Motorcycle over the Laotan Pasir (Sand Sea) to Poten – a Tenggerese Hindu temple beside Mount Bromo. From Poten, you can choose to take a 3km hike or a pony ride to get to the base of Mount Bromo, where you will be rewarded with the close-up views of the Crater Rim after ascending a steep flight of 253 steps.
Finish enjoy Mount Bromo crater continue the journey to Surabaya Airport/Train Station or your Hotel in Surabaya.
