We were a group of five visiting Bromo, and we had a wonderful time with our guide Juan and driver. Unfortunately, Bromo was suddenly closed on the day because of a wildfire, so we could only visit the Senuri view point but not the Bromo crater. We asked if we could visit a Tunpak Sewu waterfall instead, even though we knew it would be a long and challenging trip. Juan and driver kindly accepted our request and took us there.…

Throughout our 4D3N East Java tour, Romi was our guide and driver for the whole trip. From accommodations to permits to food, Romi made sure to take care of everything for us, making our trip truly a simple and fuss-free one! Romi was also really flexible with our request and did his very best to meet our demands. Additionally, Romi went above and beyond and isn't just another 'guide' but a friend. He never fails to show up e…

I would definitely recommend taking the Java Volcano Tour for your East Java trip! Everything was taken care of perfectly, and our only job was to sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience. A big kudos to our guide, Aboy, and our driver, Iyon. They were both incredibly sweet, funny, and made the whole trip even more enjoyable. The only small room for improvement would be the accommodation near Mount Bromo. It was a bit disapp…

Our Story

Built by someone who saw what the alternatives looked like.

We saw the gaps first-hand — unlicensed guides, no medical screening, operators with no BBKSDA clearance, no written rules for guests. We built something different: private-only routes, realistic driving days, and clear written policies — shaped by a founder who is an active Tourist Police officer.

The Tourist Police experience isn't a marketing credential — it's how every safety decision is made.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is JVTO a legitimate company?

Yes. JVTO operates under PT Java Volcano Rendezvous (AHU-registered February 2023, NIB and TDUP 1102230032918) and uses a publicly verifiable business identity. We also maintain a dedicated proof library so travelers can review our trust layers before paying a deposit.

Are all your tours private?

Yes. All JVTO tours are private by default. You will have your own vehicle, your own driver, and your own guide or team, without being mixed into a shared group. This is a deliberate operational choice — private execution is what enables our safety standards.

Is the Ijen health screening included?

Yes. For routes that include Ijen, JVTO coordinates the BBKSDA SE.35/K2/BIDTEK.1/KSA/1/2024 health screening with Dr. Ahmad Irwandanu, who attends the guest's hotel in Bondowoso — currently Baratha Hotel and Riverside Homestay. His SIP licence is publicly verifiable on satusehat.kemkes.go.id. Guests do not have to navigate the process alone.

What happens if weather or volcanic conditions change the plan?

Safety comes first. If access conditions change, JVTO uses an alternative-route approach and communicates clearly. Force-majeure closures are handled under our travel-credit policy: 100% Lifetime Package Credit (non-expiring, transferable, IDR-denominated, no rebooking fee).

How can I verify JVTO before booking?

You can review our legal, police, medical, press, and history-artifact proof through the /verify-jvto cluster before you make any payment. Every credential is verifiable on Indonesian government registries (ahu.go.id, satusehat.kemkes.go.id, polri.go.id) — not just on our own site.

Why should I trust JVTO with my deposit?

JVTO operates with a 'Trust First' philosophy. We are a legally registered PT (Perseroan Terbatas) in Indonesia, founded by Bripka Agung Sambuko — an active Tourist Police officer (POLPAR) appointed by Polres Bondowoso. We provide our NIB (Business Identification Number: 1102230032918) and legal documents upfront so you can verify us through official government channels before paying a single dollar.

How do you ensure safety at Ijen Crater?

Safety is our core product. Under BBKSDA SE.1658/K2/BIDTEK.1/KSA/9/2024, JVTO coordinates the mandatory health certificate process (surat sehat) with licensed medical partners. We provide professional-grade gas masks and a team trained in volcanic risk management. Our founder's background in the Tourist Police means our safety protocols are not just 'guidelines' — they are police-standard procedures.

Are your tours truly private?

We do not operate 'shared' tours where you are mixed with strangers. Every JVTO booking gets its own dedicated vehicle, driver, and guide. This ensures we can maintain strict safety standards and provide a personalized experience that shared tours simply cannot match.

What happens if my trip is cancelled?

We maintain a transparent cancellation policy. Cancellations made ≥48 hours before Day 1 receive 100% Lifetime Package Credit — non-expiring, transferable to any traveler, denominated in IDR, with no rebooking fee. Our legal registration ensures you have recourse that 'freelance' guides cannot offer.
