Journey Begins - From Surabaya to Bondowoso
Dinner
Arrival in Surabaya and Transfer to Bondowoso
Your adventure begins with a pickup at Surabaya International Airport, any hotel in Surabaya City, or Surabaya Train Station (before 12 PM). From there, you’ll be transferred to Bondowoso (approximately 5 hours). On the way, stop at a local restaurant in Probolinggo for lunch (at your own expense). Upon arrival at your hotel in Bondowoso, enjoy a dinner provided by us and take a rest to prepare for the early start on the next day.

Witness the Blue Flames - From Ijen Crater to Surabaya

Ijen Crater Sunrise Adventure
Begin your journey at midnight with a drive to the Paltuding trailhead near Ijen Crater (approximately 90 minutes). From the trailhead, trek for about 1-1.5 hours to the crater rim, where you’ll witness the stunning turquoise sulfuric crater lake and the awe-inspiring blue flames—a natural phenomenon caused by ignited sulfuric gas. You’ll also observe the local sulfur miners as they carry heavy loads of sulfur. After enjoying the spectacular sunrise, descend the trail to return to the parking area.
Coffee Plantation Stop & Return to Surabaya
After the Ijen adventure, visit the Malabar Coffee Plantation in Sempol Village for a refreshing cup of Arabica coffee and a light snack. Return to your hotel for a quick shower and checkout. Enjoy lunch before starting the 4-hour journey back to Surabaya. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Surabaya Airport (recommended departure time: after 8 PM). This marks the end of your Mount Ijen adventure.

What are the age requirements for participation?
Participants must be aged 8 years or older to take part in this activity. All participants must meet this minimum age requirement.

This activity is not stroller-friendly or wheelchair-accessible. Child seats are also not provided.

The fitness level required is Beginner.

This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, or other serious medical conditions. Pregnant women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also advised against participating.

Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, caps or hats, cash, towel, flashlight or headlamp, windbreaker jacket, hiking shoes, slippers, and a valid ID are recommended. Additionally, it's advisable to carry a raincoat or poncho, and a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Before flying, ensure you have your passport with minimum 6 months validity, return tickets, travel insurance, and other travel essentials.

For travel between cities and towns, we use Toyota Avanza for 1-3 passengers and Toyota Hiace for 4 or more passengers, providing ample space for luggage.

While we offer a popular itinerary, you can customize it by adding, changing, or skipping attractions. All activities are optional; inform our guide during the tour or leave a note at checkout.
