From Surabaya to the Mystical Bromo Area
Arrival in Surabaya and transfer to Bromo
Your Bromo and Ijen adventure begins as we greet you at Surabaya Airport, with an early pick-up (best before noon). From there, we’ll embark on a 3-hour scenic drive to the iconic Cemoro Lawang, the gateway to the Bromo Area. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes of East Java as we make our way to the hotel.
Upon arrival at your hotel, Joglo Kecombrang Bromo, you’ll have time to rest and take in the quiet beauty of the surroundings. Prepare for the exciting days ahead as you settle in for a peaceful evening.

From Bromo Sunrise to the Hidden Gems of Madakaripura

A spectacular start with Bromo Sunrise
Our day begins in the early hours (around 1:00 AM), with a thrilling stargazing session, followed by a view of the Milky Way. As the first light of dawn breaks, witness the spectacular over the volcanic landscape of Bromo. The dormant Mount Batok, the active Mount Bromo, and the towering Mount Semeru are all part of this majestic view that stretches across the caldera.
Explore Bromo’s volcanic heart
After sunrise, we continue our journey over the expansive Pasir (Sand Sea) in a 4WD, heading to the Poten Temple. From here, you can choose to either take a 3km hike or ride a pony to the base of Mount Bromo. A steep 253-step climb rewards you with a close-up view of the crater rim, where you can witness the raw power of the active volcano.
Madakaripura Waterfall: A Hidden Paradise
We then set off for Madakaripura Waterfall, about an hour’s drive away. A short 30-minute trek through the lush greenery (wear your slippers!) will lead you to this magnificent waterfall, a stunning natural beauty nestled deep in the hills. After taking in the sight, we continue our journey to Bondowoso for an overnight stay.

From Ijen Crater to Bali’s Shores
Breakfast
A Journey to Ijen Crater
Your day begins at midnight, as we head out from Bondowoso to Ijen. After a 90-minute drive to Paltuding, we’ll start the trek to Ijen Crater. This 1 to 1.5-hour hike leads you to the crater rim, where you’ll stand in awe of the 200-meter deep, turquoise sulfuric lake. You’ll also get to witness the grueling work of the local sulfur miners as they carry heavy sacks through toxic fumes and harsh terrain to make a living.
Bidding farewell to Ijen, and onward to Bali
After experiencing the crater’s sunrise view, we’ll descend and proceed to Ketapang Harbour, where you’ll board the ferry to Bali (ticket included). The journey to the island is the perfect way to conclude your Ijen adventure, as we leave Java behind and head to the tropical paradise of Bali.

What are the age requirements for participation?
Participants must be aged 8 years or older to take part in this activity. All participants must meet this minimum age requirement.

This activity is not stroller-friendly or wheelchair-accessible. Child seats are also not provided.

The fitness level required is Beginner.

This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, or other serious medical conditions. Pregnant women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also advised against participating.

Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, caps or hats, cash, towel, flashlight or headlamp, windbreaker jacket, hiking shoes, slippers, and a valid ID are recommended. Additionally, it's advisable to carry a raincoat or poncho, and a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Before flying, ensure you have your passport with minimum 6 months validity, return tickets, travel insurance, and other travel essentials.

For travel between cities and towns, we use Toyota Avanza for 1-3 passengers and Toyota Hiace for 4 or more passengers, providing ample space for luggage.
