The fitness level required is Beginner.

This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, or other serious medical conditions. Pregnant women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also advised against participating.

Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, caps or hats, cash, towel, flashlight or headlamp, windbreaker jacket, hiking shoes, slippers, and a valid ID are recommended. Additionally, it's advisable to carry a raincoat or poncho, and a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Pre-flight Preparations

Before flying, ensure you have your passport with minimum 6 months validity, return tickets, travel insurance, and other travel essentials.

For travel between cities and towns, we use Toyota Avanza for 1-3 passengers and Toyota Hiace for 4 or more passengers, providing ample space for luggage.

Upon arrival at Grand Padis Hotel, take time to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Indulge in a delicious dinner before resting up for the adventure ahead.

Discovering Ijen Crater and the Bromo Area’s Mystical Charm

At the break of midnight, our journey begins as we head towards Paltuding, the base of Ijen Crater. After a 90-minute drive, you’ll begin your 1 to 1.5-hour hike to the crater rim. There, you’ll be greeted by a surreal, turquoise sulfuric lake, surrounded by steep cliffs. Witness the strength of the local sulfur miners, who bravely navigate toxic fumes to carry heavy sacks of sulfur through the harsh terrain.

Lunch and onward to Bromo

After descending, we’ll return to the hotel to freshen up, check out, and enjoy a hearty lunch. Then, we’ll embark on a scenic 3.5-hour drive to the Bromo area, where you’ll settle in for the night, ready for tomorrow’s adventures.

Sunrise at Bromo and Exploration of Madakaripura Waterfall

Bromo Sunrise and Stargazing

At 1:00 AM, we set off to witness the magical night sky at Bromo. The Milky Way will light up the volcanic landscape, setting the stage for an unforgettable sunrise. As the sun rises over the caldera, you’ll be in awe of the iconic views, with Mount Batok, Mount Bromo, and the mighty Mount Semeru standing tall against the horizon.

Exploring the Volcanic Heart of Bromo

After sunrise, we journey across the vast Pasir (Sand Sea) in a 4WD vehicle, heading to Poten Temple. From here, you can choose to hike 3km or take a pony ride to the base of Mount Bromo. Climb the 253 steps to reach the crater rim, where you’ll witness the raw power of the active volcano up close.

Madakaripura Waterfall: A Hidden Gem

Next, we drive to Madakaripura Waterfall, a one-hour journey through lush landscapes. A short trek of about 30 minutes (wear comfortable footwear!) will lead you to this stunning waterfall, nestled deep in the hills. After soaking in the beauty of the falls, we’ll continue our journey to Surabaya, where you’ll have the evening to unwind.

Exploring Surabaya’s Vibrant G-Walk

Before heading back to your hotel, take some time to explore G-Walk, Surabaya’s popular hangout spot. Whether it’s shopping, tasting local delicacies, or enjoying the nightlife, this vibrant venue is the perfect place to relax after an adventurous day.
