Bali to East Java - Arrival & Transfer to Cemoro Lawang
Arrival in Bali & Transfer to Cemoro Lawang
Your tour begins with a pick-up at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Bali or from your hotel (preferably before 9:00 AM local time). You will be transferred for approximately 4 hours to Gilimanuk Port for your ferry crossing to Java (Ketapang Port).
Ferry Crossing & Transfer to Bromo Area
The ferry crossing will take around an hour, and if the weather is clear, you can enjoy views of Mount Agung in Bali and Mount Raung in Java from the ferry. Upon arrival at Ketapang Port, continue your journey with a 4-hour drive to your hotel in the Bromo area. Check in, relax, and rest before your next adventure.

Mount Bromo Stargazing & Sunrise
At around 02:00 AM, prepare for a thrilling Mount Bromo Stargazing and Milky Way View. After immersing yourself in the beauty of the night sky, head to the viewing spot for sunrise over the Bromo landscape. You'll witness the stunning sight of Mount Batok, Mount Bromo, and Gunung Semeru, Indonesia's highest and most active volcano, looming majestically in the background.
4WD Ride to Mount Bromo Crater
After the sunrise, embark on an exciting 4WD ride or motorcycle journey across the vast volcanic sand sea (Laotan Pasir) to Poten, a Tenggerese Hindu temple near Mount Bromo. From here, you have the option to either hike 3km or take a pony ride to the base of Mount Bromo, where you can climb the 253 steps to the crater rim for close-up views of the active crater.
Transfer to Bondowoso
After enjoying the spectacular views of the Bromo crater, continue your journey to Bondowoso City. Check into your hotel and recharge your energy in preparation for the Ijen Crater hike the next day.

The Blue Fire of Ijen & Return to Bali

Ijen Crater Sunrise Trek
Your Ijen adventure begins at midnight with a 90-minute drive from the hotel to the Ijen Ranger Post (Paltuding). Upon arrival, begin the trek to Ijen Crater, which will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. At the crater rim, be mesmerized by the gigantic turquoise sulfuric crater lake, one of the most unique sights in Java.
Witnessing the Sulfur Miners
While at the crater, you'll have the chance to observe the world’s toughest sulfur miners who brave toxic fumes and hazardous terrain to carry 70kg sacks of sulfur. This is a truly humbling experience that reveals the hardships faced by these workers.
Return to Ketapang Harbour
After watching the breathtaking sunrise and exploring the crater, return to the parking area for a brief break and enjoy a cup of Arabica coffee. Finally, we will transfer you to Ketapang Harbour to take the ferry back to Bali, bringing your volcanic adventure to a close. End of the program.

What are the age requirements for participation?
Participants must be aged 8 years or older to take part in this activity. All participants must meet this minimum age requirement.

This activity is not stroller-friendly or wheelchair-accessible. Child seats are also not provided.

The fitness level required is Beginner.

This activity is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, or other serious medical conditions. Pregnant women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also advised against participating.

Change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, caps or hats, cash, towel, flashlight or headlamp, windbreaker jacket, hiking shoes, slippers, and a valid ID are recommended. Additionally, it's advisable to carry a raincoat or poncho, and a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Before flying, ensure you have your passport with minimum 6 months validity, return tickets, travel insurance, and other travel essentials.

For travel between cities and towns, we use Toyota Avanza for 1-3 passengers and Toyota Hiace for 4 or more passengers, providing ample space for luggage.

While we offer a popular itinerary, you can customize it by adding, changing, or skipping attractions. All activities are optional; inform our guide during the tour or leave a note at checkout.
