The tour operator was reliable and responsive, as was our driver. However, we had a really negative experience with our guide Boy on the first two days. Prior to departing from Singapore, the operator said that hiking poles would be provided and we didn’t need to bring ours. On the morning of the hike when we were finally at the lodge, Boy said that the hiking poles were broken and that we’d have to hike without them. This was despite him claiming the night before that he was going to prepare our hiking equipment. During the hike, he also accidentally revealed that he actually went to a night market the evening before instead, and kept saying he was feeling sleepy because of that. Don’t think that’s very professional nor safe.
